Origin and Traceability: Gold

In southern Ecuador, the province of El Oro combines the richness of its mountains with its proximity to the sea, creating unique microclimates that give its coffee an exceptional character. Despite representing only about 2% of the national coffee production, its beans stand out for their aromatic profile and balance between acidity and sweetness.

The soil of El Oro, formed by ancient volcanic deposits and alluvial sediments, provides minerals that enrich each bean, while the geography of the region, with heights ranging from 200 to 1,500 meters above sea level, allows the coffees to ripen slowly and naturally. This combination of factors results in complex coffees, with notes
that evoke nuts, caramel and herbal nuances.

The history and culture of El Oro are also reflected in each cup. The towns maintain colonial traditions, squares and fairs that celebrate local agriculture, and daily life continues to be marked by dedication to coffee, cocoa and other crops that have sustained the region for generations. The coffees we handle at Oscura Tentación Coffee in El Oro capture all this richness: they are medium-altitude beans, carefully selected, that convey the diversity of their land and the passion of their communities in every sip.
